I wrote this exact article a year ago to emphasize how ridiculous it is for college football to limit their playoff invitations to only four schools. Well, here we are a year later, and it is still just as ridiculous. Some argue, I am not one of them, that the NFL should expand their playoff format from 12 teams to 16. At the current 12 team format, 37.5% of NFL teams make the playoffs. College football, by only allowing four teams into their playoff, only sees 3.15% of the 127 teams compete in the post-season.
Just for fun and debate I have taken the role of the committee and drafted ranked the top four NFL teams. It wasn’t easy last year and it isn’t an easier this year.
1. New England Patriots
2. Pittsburgh Steelers
3. Minnesota Vikings
4. Los Angeles Rams
5. New Orleans Saints
6. Atlanta Falcons
